Valhalla There have been many theories as to what happens when one dies. Reincarnation, the ceasing of existence, some form of afterlife. For the great warriors of the Duel World, there is, thankfully, an answer to that question. Valhalla. The warriors paradise of ancient legends. Where the great fighters of legend came to spend their days sparring, partying, and simply enjoying themselves. It is said that they're preparing for some great battle, but nobody, not even the warriors themselves, know when this war will happen, or what it's for. The only one to know for certain is Odin, and he's not saying anything. There are only two ways to get into Valhalla. The first is to die, and your soul found worthy to enter Valhalla. The second is to be escorted in by a Valkyrie, though such invitations are rare. Surprisingly enough, it is possible for warriors of Valhalla to return to the land of the living. Such moments are very rare, and only occur with good cause. Duelists of Valhalla do seem to have a better chance of gaining permission to return above others. Population It is almost impossible to determine Valhalla's population. Warriors since ancient times have come here, and it only continues to grow. The warriors of Valhalla run the gambit of races. If they demonstrated Valor, and the true soul of a warrior, they most likely ended up here. Government Valhalla is ruled over by Odin, Father of the Aesir, and is aided by his sons Thor and Loki. A stern, quiet ruler, it is said he can see the future, but never tells anyone what he sees. Instead he uses that wisdom to guide how he rules Valhalla. Factions & Organizations The Valkyries The warrior maidens that serve under Odin, the Valkyries are responsible for bringing worthy candidates to Valhalla, and serve to enforce Odin's will. Each one is a highly skilled warrior, and when not seeking out more souls for Valhalla, are sometimes sent on missions to the Duel World at the Aesir's behest. Relations Valhalla is, by far, the most secluded of the various regions of the Duel World. They keep themselves firmly out of the political affairs of the Duel World. The Duelist Kingdom, Dark World, even the celestial goings on of the Sky Sanctuary are not of their concern. That isn't to say they're ignore everything going on though. If something is needed, Valhalla will send its Valkyries, or even a warrior of old. Though for what end is only known to Odin himself. |
