Decks A Duelist's deck is the source of their power. It's how they can summon monsters, use spells and set traps. As with the regular card game, a Duelist's deck is made up of, well, cards. These cards can be found and purchased anywhere (though obviously, the rarer ones are harder to find). In the hands of regular people, these cards are simply cards, nothing more. Only Duelists, those with the power of a Deck Master can use their power. A Duelist starts with a deck of 40 cards in their main deck, and up to 15 cards in their extra deck. They may only start with one copy of each card. More cards can be purchased via the shop, in which case they can add a card of the corresponding type into their Deck Box. You may have up to three copies of a single card in your Deck, unless the card is limited on the banlist. Cards may be traded with other players. Simply post in the trading thread before doing so. You may also exchange a card you have for one of the same type without having to sell and repurchase the same shop item. Simply post in the trading thread as to what cards you're switching out. Dueling As Duelists, characters will be able to unlock the power of their cards and, yes, duel eachother. The rules of these duels are the same as in the actual card game. How these duels can be carried out is entirely up to you. There are many free emulators out there one can use. From Edopro, to Duel Nexus, Dueling Book, etc. There is no singular system you're expected to use. You can use whatever works for both you and your opponent. Do note though that in regards to duels using the Deck Master system, Dueling Book is recommended, as not only do they allow the use of custom cards (your Deck Master card), the lack of automation works for how these duels are carried out. If you're not much of a player, or aren't really interested in playing the card game and just enjoying the story, good news, you don't have to. You can easily just work out with your opponent who wins and just skip to the end, or just script out the Duel as you see fit. Though in some instances, like major plot points or events, actual duels would be preferred. |
