Deck Masters A Duelist isn't simply someone that can summon monsters and use spells. When one becomes a Duelist, they also become a Deck Master, a special kind of monster that can affect the Duel from outside of play. In a pinch, a Deck Master can even be brought to the field, though this comes at a great risk. When a character completes their Duelist Trial, and thus gaining the power of a Duelist, they will also be given their Deck Master card, created by the staff. This is a custom card that will essentially bring their main deck up to 41 cards. Their Deck Master ability will be determined by the staff as well, based on how they acted in the thread, and their Deck. All Deck Master cards will also include the following effect: Once per duel, this card may be normal summoned to the field. It's effect becomes the following: -Card effects cannot be activated in response to this card's summoning, nor can the summoning be negated. If this card leaves the field, it is returned to the Deck Master position. Deck Masters start out with 500 attack and 500 defense, and are treated as level 1 monsters. Their type and attribute are also determined by staff. These can be changed by purchasing the appropriate items from the store. Items can be purchased to grant your Deck Master an extra ability while on the field, make them a link or a Pendulum monster, and even to alter your effects. In these circumstances, players can decide what their effect is, but it still requires staff approval. Mechanically, duels involving Deck Masters will be done through Dueling Book, since the system allows the use of custom cards. At the beginning of the duel, the Deck Masters are immediately removed from play (this does not count as banishing them). The duel will then continue as normal. As the card effect describes, if your Deck Master is brought onto the field and is returned to the Deck Master position. You are not required to use your Deck Master in a duel. Regular duels are perfectly fine. |
